“Charisma is an illusion that you create”

 

Employees are impressed when a leader has a seemingly endless memory, the power of a leaders memory is talked about for many years and becomes a positive fable in the organisation. Whilst there are many ways that you can be seen as a charismatic leader one of these ways is to follow up your one on one effectively.

Step 1: Close out

At the end of your employee’s one on one you should get your employee to sign off on the results and any agreed actions. After a one on one feedback session make sure you update your file notes and file your copy of the signed one on one in your employees personnel file. (Online or in a folder)

Step 2: Manage your Actions

Add all of the actions you committed to during your employees one on one to your time management system and make sure you complete all actions, any failure to follow through will harm your ability to lead your team effectively as they will quickly loose trust in you.
